Ring in the New Year....

2012 is fast approaching and i just wanted to share a gentle reminder to walk into the New Year with your head held high and your positive energy shining!

Leave the last year where it is...behind you. The past is the past for the reason and the New Year gives all of us hope for the future. Focus on the positive energy that surrounds you and share with those nearest and dearest. No matter what age or size you are, you can be all you can be! (sounds like an army commercial...BUT...it's the truth).

Be good to yourself in 2012,,,,do all you can to be healthy and happy. You are so deserving of good things.

If you are one of those that detoxes to start of the New Year; whether it be fro energy or health purpose, don't forget to DETOX YOUR THOUGHTS this coming year.

Purge any negative thoughts and people you may have in your life. If it hasn't worked for you in the past then it's time to move forward with a fresh new purpose. Get out of those negative thought patterns...they are a serious block to your happiness.

Any change in behaviour takes time, so be gentle and kind to yourself while you bring the positive into your life. You may at first not feel worthy or that you are worth the time and change. That is the first thought you need to change. STOP IT! Refuse negative thought patterns and behaviors and distract yourself with something positive. Read a new book; go for a walk; call up a friend; keep a journal. All simple but every effective ways to refocus your energy. Believe it or not, at some point it becomes second nature to start seeing and believing the positive.

Small steps but brave ones in order to move forward in your life.

Take 2012 in stride...your stride...and live your life. There is only one you so make it the best you ever!!!

2011 Winds Down

Just a quick note of thanks to those who have viewed and commented on my "CurvesRFab" blog. I never thought it would turn into much but a spot for my occasional ramblings.

As 2011 winds down and 2012 waits in the wings we all have a lot to be thankful for. I for one am thankful to have discovered a whole group of positive, strong and confidant plus sized ladies. You all rock! It's nice to know that I am not alone in the world and others hare my joys and sorrows about life as a curvy girl in this world.

Hopefully the new year is kind to you and the doors of opportunity swing open. Most of all, don't be afraid to walk through those doors as you just never know what awaits you! Life is the greatest adventure ever!

Take good care and I'll be back in 2012 with more stories, ideas and fashion to share with all you lovely, curvy goddesses out there!

Be Kind To Yourself

With the hustle and bustle of the holidays I decided to write a few words about treating yourself well. YES I MEAN YOU!!!

As women, mother's, sister's, friends....we all have a tendency to make sure everyone else around us is taken care of. At times this comes a price to ourselves. We get tired, depressed, angry, out of sorts and sometimes we don't know why. No, it's not just hormones ladies! Women can spend so much time and energy outside ourselves that we don't know quite what to do with any down time or just a brief moment to ourselves. We feel guilty if we take our own "time out".

Well, I am here to "not so subtly remind you" that YOU are just as important s everyone else; more so even. It's fine to care and want to make the best Christmas or New Years ever for your family and friends but take some time to make it the best ever for you.

Being kind to yourself doesn't have to be dramatic. It can be as simple as leaving the house for an hour and going to your favourite coffee shop and indulging in that gourmet tea or latte all alone. It can be that 20 minute escape to the shower or bath where you lock the door and allowing calgon to take you away! ; )

There are many small things you can do just for yourself. Put on your favourite music while doing housework or wrapping gifts and sing..loud!  Call up your BFF and head out for an couple of hours of shopping or if you have the time and money a mani/pedi and catch up on gossip. Head out for a walk with the dog in the evening and take in all the sights and sounds and colours of the holiday season.  Take a moment just to watch the snow fall outside your window.

Be creative and be in the moment. Don't you think you deserve it?

I dare you...right now...to take 5 minutes..make a cup of tea or hot chocolate and just stare out the window. Daydream for fun....it's ok!

Give yourself permission to just be yourself and try not to overextend what you do for others. They love you...so love yourself too!

Enjoy the holidays; enjoy the season; and most of all enjoy who you are! Beautiful...Curvy...and so deserving of joy.

Big...Beautiful...Artwork?

I was doing a random search online and discovered there are websites galore dedicated to artwork for and about curvy women! BBW's of the world rejoice!

To think there are artists out there that truly appreciate the curves and figures of plus size and voluptuous women. We take it for granted that there is so much negative press and weight hate out there that at times we, as women fail to realize that many, many men and women out there love and appreciate us just as we are. And we curvy girls can be a sexy high spirited bunch!

I won't go on and on in today's blog; promise. I just wanted to share with you the links to some amazing websites by some very talented people who think women with curves are amazing creatures. (and rightly so!)

Enjoy!
